Our friend Dan, along with his church DC Kasarani in Nairobi, are working to distribute emergency aid and deliver other care initiatives in their local community. As part of this, he has been helping the women's prison in Thika get clean water by installing a water filter system (£30) and replacement filters (£7) from Clean Water. These kits remove the harmful bacteria, parasites and other harmful substances from dirty water, making it safe to drink.
A while ago Dan got in contact with us, and we thought we'd share his email with you. If you feel you'd be able to respond and buy a water filter or two, then please visit our alternative gifts shop.
I pray that this mail find you and your family well.
The Lord has given me the grace to serve and this far it has taken His hand.
I am well and my family.
Kindly note that the demand for the water filter has gone up. The testimony from Langata Women prison where we have placed three water filters indicates that the blocks where women take the filtered water shows that cases of water borne diseases have reduced tremendously and hence they are requesting for more.
We still have a number of children's' home and feeding centres waiting.
The first photo below is of the filter we took on Sunday at Langata women prison sick bay and other two was taken at Mathare in one of the slum feeding center.
I will appreciate so much if in your next visit to Kenya you bring ten filters.
