What work does Grassroots do?
Internationally, Grassroots runs child sponsorship programmes in India, in Theta and Ruiru in Kenya, Romania and Tanzania. People pay between £3.50 and £20 a month to sponsor a child, which, depending on the project, provides food, education, medical care, and accommodation.
Grassroots is a Christian charity. As well as practical help we are also involved in prayer with and for those involved with the projects. Members of the team visit churches and travel to various countries teaching people to pray and leading times of prayer. We blog about these journeys at www.prayereverywhere.org.uk.
In addition to this, Grassroots supports a drop-in centre in Tenerife called The Living Room, a project working with imprisoned women in Peru and TEE22SIX, a rural project in Malawi. More information and links to their websites are here.
If you would like more information about how we run our work and how we deal with money and so on,

supports over 3,000 children each year
Grassroots Mission Trips are essential to the operation of the projects. Team members on our trips do many of the things that we would need to pay employees to do if the trips did not happen.
We go out to India, Kenya, Romania and Tanzania every year to interview sponsored children, check things are being organised with integrity and meet with our amazing partners and friends!
“So many of us have realised the difficulties people face and how much more simple their lives are, even though they are so happy with what they have….we’ve seen that a little really does go a long way.”

Our Trustees – Karen Hedges, Robert Sweatman, Rob Anderson, Stuart Boreham, Sam Corley, Pippa Ford, Mark Price and Jamie Walker.
Speaking and Church Visits
Grassroots team members are able to preach, take lessons and assemblies, lead discussion groups and even create Easter craft lessons, amongst other things. We do not charge, but it would be lovely if any expenses were to be covered.
