House progress & fantastic local people moved to join in

10 June, 2011
This evening we are thanking God for so many people involved with what's happening here in Romania. The first encouragement was new sponsors sending in forms that arrived in the post today. None of this is possible without those who pray and give in the UK.
When we woke we found a rainy day here and a chill in the air. Still beautiful but a bit creeky in the bones. The team went to the site and were soon joined by a visitor. The police chief arrived to see what was going on. He was so happy! He talked a lot and went away and came back with a box full of drinks.
The building site has many tools that Iacob and our previous teams have got together. One thing that was clearly needed today was ladders. So Chaz went off and bought some.
Then the local church people arrived with a fantastic lunch. Then a local Christian turned up and donated 50 litres of petrol towards the team travel needs. It felt like a stream of community people getting the vision for helping those in need in the community and the fact that some Christians from the UK had come over was catalysing them to do what they already believed in. A lovely atmosphere and lovely people.
The house building has also progressed amazingly fast. The team is very happy. (pictured below is of a well earned tea break!)
Sharon also had a number of meetings with people discussing plans for the future. We are praying for a greater clarity as to what to do.
Later tonight Sharon will be meeting with the BENITA team members who have been learning what to do in helping people in Romania who are trapped in the sex trade. They have been spending time with some real heroes (who Sharon met with last year) and are making some exciting plans.
