Report from Romania on Housing Projects

(This is the latest message we have had from our partner charity in Romania - BENITA)

There was a nice time in this autumn and very good for constructions so that the houses are almost all ready. So I can give you a complete report of the work and the money which was spend until now.

CHIRALES

We replaced all the pieces on the roof which needed to be replaced. .Also the walls inside and outside was repaired. The electrical installation was replaced (the old installation was from aluminium and many accidents happened in different houses because of this kind of installations. Here also we had a problem with it. When the workers worked with electrical tools, a part of installation burned, so we decided to replaces it with a new one according to standards in this field).

There was repaired the well-pump and the gates on the street. Inside we put a new door for the room in middle of the house in order the have each one separate entrance (we thought about the time when they will be married).

Total cost until now: 2880 P

JELNA

As you can see in the picture this house are a little different as we discussed. The workers put me in trouble. When they made foundations (I was not there) they made it for two rooms. They didn?t wont to understand that the money are limited, so the cost is over the estimation I made.

The young man who lives here is so happy that I can't explain to you. In all this time he worked hard for his house, even he if he is ill and he has a very much enthusiasm. The people from the village was also enthusiastic seeing this action and they joined with us It is something unusual for orthodox to join with the evangelicals They rinsed money in orthodox church (around 5 millions lei, that?s mean 100 pounds) and even the priest was involved in his.

This boy, Gavrila, is living in his house and he has no words to thank you for what you did for him.

VIISOARA

The inside of the house are almost ready .This family told me that now it is the first time when they can sleep having no fear. Very often when some visitors looked on the house they cannot sleep because of fear that the visitors will buy the house and will put them out. Of course, there were many businessman interested in buying the house and they looked often on it and made plans how to change and to use it. No one from them thought what was in the soul of parents of this family seeing them. Now they have no fear. If is necessary they can move in any moment, even if the house is not quite ready. Otherwise they will move in the spring time.

For the parents this action was something unbelievable, incredible. They are involved in construction with all the children. The children love also so much the house and they use to go to play around the house and also in the rooms. The parent?s dream is to have household and animals. There is a large space round the house good for this purpose.
