New multipurpose building
-
03 September, 2010
A new multipurpose building is being constructed opposite the Stable Church at “Airport” Mbeya.Grassroots will use the space as:
- A sewing room, where people can come and use the facilities to help them generate an income for themselves when they do not have the finances to buy a sewing machine.
- A library and homework centre. Our aim is to provide all the current reference and text books used at school plus some theological books. At school there are not enough books to go around.
- An office and store.
- A meeting room.
- A wedding hire shop. This business will help bring in a little income and jobs as we rent out wedding apparel (both male and female). We will also rent brass instruments!
Thank you for all the dresses we have received so far and the recent kind donation of 11 trumpets, cornets and trombones.
The building is still under construction. I should have photos of the completed building by November.
The May team spent half a day helping clear the site of old bricks from the previous building (the picture is off them just after finishing work!). They were very tired and extremely dirty by the end of the day! But it was lots of fun. Then they came back a few days later and saw the foundations being laid.
