6:1 - Come on!

DSC_0364Hi.

Today we were in Pambogo. We took 24 new children on to the sponsorship scheme.

After that the team split up. Some went door to door - being invited in, given a drink and then praying with people.

Sharon had a meeting with the pastors about the "life skills" course - which is a new development. Those who finish primary education but have not passed exams into secondary will be offered a place. The idea is that they learn who to look after pigs, chicken, etc. How to keep financial books and how to produce a good crop on a small piece of land etc and take stuff to market. In that way they will have the skills they need to live.

The meeting went very well - just need to put flesh on bones. But we have hit on a major idea and we are told it is exactly what the Tanzanian govenment has been saying is the greatest need.

DSC_0482Went to see the football team play a match at the financial institute. We won 6-1. They were all so excited! The slogan that the supporters chant "grassroots trust we love each other, we love each other in grassroots trust." Very funny!

Lots of little bitty bits tomorrow.
