Mosquito nets and blankets
-
08 November, 2011
What a fantastic day. After each sponsored child was interviewed we were able to give them a new mosquito net and a blanket. The look of joy and amazment on the faces of the children and their carers was great! We interviewed over 400 children today. Many of them have a belly full of worms - which shows sometimes as a bulging tummy. The doctor has to de-worm the children on a regular basis. Some of the children are being brought up by grandmothers or great grandmothers. Some of them are single handedly bringing up a number of small children. These women should have put their feet up long ago and yet they are working hard to grow food to feed their families.
Lunchtime has been fun. The whole team has eaten together in the new multipurpose building. It's been so good to have the translators with us, many of whom are still at school. They have joined in the conversation and some were clearly thrilled to be there.
After lunch (at about 4:30pm) some of the team piled into the truck and headed for the local market - a Tanzanian experience not to be missed.
Finally everyone finished what they were doing and are now back at the Karibuni Center. It is now almost 11pm and very dark outside. We are trying to input some of the information gathered today.
Tomorrow we are in three different locations (Airport, Pambogo and Shewa).
Thanks for praying!

Hi Everyone. Greetings from Whitnash. Great to hear that the new building is up and working. What a difference it must be making. May you all be truly blessed as you reach out with so much practical help and support to the communities there. Have a good day at the different centers you are all going to be at today.
Love and prayers for you all.
