Team going ... but an uncomfortable night ahead
-
17 May, 2010
Sharon has just rung to say the team's flights are cancelled, but Swiss Air have rescheduled their flight to Zurich for later this morning.Sounds good news, but they've missed the connecting flight to Dar-es-Salaam, and that is now rescheduled to leave Zurich for lunchtime tomorrow... And Swiss have promised they will NOT put them in a hotel. So our prayers mean they can go... but at some considerable personal cost in terms of discomfort and possibly new bus tickets one day late across Tanzania.

Praying for a safe and comfortable journey... ASAP!

When in Heathrow there was a slight possibility of getting to Zurich in time to catch next flight. They even asked SwissAir to tell them. They arrived in Zurich with 1 minute to spare and saw the plane they needed go out. The local SwissAir people were very upset as they would have delayed the flight if they had been told.
In this context a little repentance took place and SwissAir have organised for them to have hotels rooms for the night. They are just checking in as I type. The onward flight will now be tomorrow lunchtime.
We now have a few logistics to sort out in contacting our team in Dar to change the bus from tomorrow to the day after, and to inform Richard and the crew in Mbeya that they will be a day late.
So sorry to hear of your delays, but good to know you now have hotel rooms. Praying that you will have a restful night's sleep ready for the flight tomorrow and that you will be at peace and not frustrated and stressed out. Love to Elsbeth, Carol, Sharon, Suzanne and those I don't know. Marilyn x
