Meeting the Tanzanian Children.. at last
-
20 May, 2010
Hi.. hope you are all ok in the UK. Busy day here.Started with Greenwell leading the team time of worship.
We then set off to the community. The task was to interview all the "Standard 7" at "Airport". There was a good turn out and we were able to meet almost all the children on the list.
Then we split into 3 teams. Carol & Amber went shopping for clothes for the children. The rest of the team took on the task of piling bricks. Grassroots has just purchased a site to build a small centre for meeting the children and a library for the secondary and university students. On the site was an old building that was taken down last week. The bricks were from that old building. We hope to turn them into the new centre.
The team came back from this hard work absolutely filthy. It was almost impossible to tell if sue was white..very funny.
Elbeth and Sharon took the pastors' meeting. Each of these pastors have part of the Grassroots feeding/sponsorship programme running out of their church properties. Wonderful stories of people coming to Christ and communities changing. So very, very exciting!
Team v happy. Just got back to Karibuni Center. Beginning to wind down and chat until bedtime!
